is it possible to transplant red raspberries and if so what time of year is best and do I cut the vines all the way to the ground before transplanting?

I recommend waiting until spring. However, I do not recommend transplanting for several reasons. The plants tend to pick up a virus or disease, so you went to all the effort and have plants that don't produce many berries.

If you do, cut the canes down to 6-10 inches tall. Dig up and plant in the new location. Prepare the area to be planted this fall according to the planting guide.
