Q--
This is the first year we planted blackberries from nursery matured plants...they all survived but some grew to 4 - 5 feet while others only grew about 2 feet ...Should they be bigger and what should we do as fall approaches?

A--
The plants are off to a good start. I would check around the smaller plants to see if you have a mole or vole feeding on the roots. It would help to begin trellising the plants now. As far as care, just keep them well watered thru October.
