Q--
In 1997 I puchased 300 plants from Nourse Farms and planted them here in Rumney, NH (zone 4?)  I have Patriots, Bluerays Northlands and Nelsons. For the last two years the Nelsons have produced NO fruit, but the plants are beautiful and healthy. Actually, this year (July 2004) I have very little fruit on the whole planting. Should I pull them out? All 25 of them? My pH is about 4.5. Most of the plants look quite healthy. We weeded and mulched extensively this year with pine chips. Should I get some bees? Am I doing something wrong or was it endless days and nites of recordbreaking cold and wind and little snow?

A--
During the past 2 winters we have had temperatures around -20F. Patriot, Blueray and Northland are the most winter hardy. So it was cold enough to kill the fruit buds on the Nelson, but not cold enough to effect the plant. I would not change anything you're doing, and remember not to feed after the end of July.
