After all the fruit is set, suddenely, all the leaves are eaten off.
 What are the causes?

Sorry for the delay.
Gooseberries readily loose their leaves to powdery mildew. I recommend spraying with stylet oil at least 1-2 times per month in May, June and July. The plants will come back next year.
