Q-  I recently planted strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries, and am wondering if I should pinch the blossoms this 'first' year.

I noted another reply having to do with blueberries, but doubt the blueberries I just planted will blossom this year.

The strawberries are beginning to bloom, though - and I seem to remember hearing that it is no longer recommended or necessary to 'pinch' the first year with them.  Is that correct?

What about raspberries and blackberries?

A-  The blueberries will flower this year and I recommend removing them.

Don't worry about the brambles, they will be fine.

The strawberries should have their blossoms removed, unless they are day-neutral/everbearing varieties.
