Q--
I planted some black rasp and thornless blackberries. They are growing to my suprise, but I noticed on the black rasp, that some of the canes go limp at the ends. It happens some with the blackberries but not as much. Is it a problem? Am I doing something wrong? Plus what color should the canes be they are kind of opaque.
Thank You
Martin

When the tips go limp usually it is Cane Borrer. Cut out effected plants.

Please see the following link to Cornell's Berry Diagonistic tool.

I will cut out the affected canes but how about the coloring.

I will guess the plants see less than 8 hours of sun per day? Or... how much have you fed them this year?

Please check the Cornell link above. It has photos and is very helpful for identifying problems.
