I live in 8b climate zone. This is my first experience with strawberries. I have what look like fruit flies on them. My local feed store is not very helpful and due to Hurricane Katrina our local co-op is still closed. What should I do?

I wouldn't be too worried, they could be fruit flies or fungas gnats. Malathion or Sevin should take care of it. Please see the following links to New york and Pennsylvania recommendations. Nate Nourse
