Thanks for the info.  That could be the problem, but I watered them every morning before I went to work.  They are in those big 5 gallon pots with mulch on the top to hold the moisture.  I used potting soil for acid loving plants, acid loving fertilizer and peat moss.  That all sat for one year.  I will post some pics of the plants so you can get a visual.  Do you know of anything else it could be?
